Li-Yang is a Research Assistant Professor at the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago (TTI-Chicago). His research is in theoretical computer science, with an emphasis on computational complexity. Li-Yang spent the 2014-2015 academic year as a Microsoft Research Fellow at the Simons Institute, University of California at Berkeley. He received his PhD in 2014 from Columbia University, where he was advised by Rocco Servedio. He visited Ryan O’Donnell at CMU and Johan Håstad at KTH, and interned with Boaz Barak and Parikshit Gopalan at Microsoft Research.
